Remarks
» Treated by several authorities as African Blue Tit, Cyanistes teneriffae. This bird belongs to the subspecies Cyanistes teneriffae degener, an endemic of the islands of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, where it is scarce and very local. In any case, recent genetic studies have shown that this subspecies is almost identical to the North African form ultramarinus.
