» Photo by Helen Hipperson. This bird has been discussed. Clearly a juvenile Illadopsis, Pale-breasted and Brown were ruled out. Features such as rufous plumage behind eye, yellow base to bill and claw length strongly support ID of juvenile Scaly-breasted. Scaly-breasted rarely shows clear scales on plumage, esp. birds in W. Uganda. Biometrics also consistent with Scaly-breasted.
