A Mangrove Kingfisher Halcyon senegaloides photographed in the Luangwa Valley in eastern Zambia is by far the furthest inland yet known, and raises again the possibility of breeding birds being in contact with the closely related Woodland Kingfisher H. senegalensis, and perhaps hybridising.
